The Maritime Volunteer Service is a National Charity whose aims are:
 
  • To pass on maritime expertise.
  • To teach marine skills to younger generations and those willing to learn.
  • To assist in maritime emergencies both ashore and afloat.
  • To assist, enhance and refresh RYA level skills.

 

  • To MESS ABOUT IN BOATS...safely!

EGM - 2008
 
 
The MVS as a national body recently held a meeting in Nottingham (18-20 April) for delegates to vote on the future of the service and to meet members from other Units. Robin Middleton (former SOSREP) was the guest speaker at a greatly enjoyable event.

Napoli - 2007


Members of Plymouth Unit were involved in securing the protection zone around the MSC Napoli when she was beached in Lyme Bay. The unit along with South Devon MVS and others were involved with Brixham Coast Guard Station and Weymouth SOSREP security procedures.
